Jackson, CA…Amador County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is preparing to begin work on a project that will install a traffic signal on State Route 49 at the staggered intersection of French Bar Road in Jackson. The purpose of the project is to improve safety at this intersection to address concerns created by broadside collisions at this location. Sidewalks, crosswalks and American Disability Act (ADA) ramps will also be added. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, September 12, 2016, and be completed in October 2016.

Work is anticipated to occur normally during night-time hours, from 9:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m., with minimal anticipated delays. One-way traffic control will be used and drivers should expect up to 10-minute delays.

This $1.9 million traffic signal project has been awarded to May-Han Electric, Inc.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
