When personnel arrived, they noticed the power pole located at the south/east corner of S. Washington Street and Restano Way had been sheared off at the base, and was being held up by the power lines. It was determined a semi truck with an oversize trailer, had struck the pole, breaking it off just above the sidewalk. The driver, who is from Texas, contacted the police department.
Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) responded to the scene. Because of the extent of damage, PG&E is hoping to have the needed repairs completed by early Tuesday Morning (11 Oct. 2016) before 8:00 am. For the safety of the public and PG&E crews, all roadway closures will remain in place until the repairs are completed.
Currently, all lanes of S. Washington Street are closed between Restano Way and Hospital Road and detours have been set up.
