Sonora, CA…Sonora Regional Medical Center hosted the fourth annual Ladies Night Out for Breast Health Awareness in downtown Sonora on October 6, 2016. Approximately 400 participants enjoyed a fun and educational evening in downtown Sonora, with 30 businesses participating in the passport book and offering special deals and giveaways. Sonora Regional Medical Center staffed nurses and other employees at each of the 30 businesses to answer questions about breast health with topics ranging from prevention and screening to cancer treatments and outcomes.
Participants also enjoyed free maniCURES, music by Cottonwood Creek, and a photo booth. Many businesses decorated their front windows with themes of breast health and Ladies Night Out participants voted on their favorite displays. The winners were Old City Hotel Emporium, first place; Heel to Toe, second place; and Sonora’s Favorite Kitchen Store, third place. The first place winner will receive a free newspaper ad, courtesy of the Union Democrat.
Ladies Night Out participants who submitted their ballot for the window display contest were also entered in a drawing for an enormous gift basket which included two tickets to the 2017 Joie de Vie Gala, a $400 value. This year’s winner is Aubrey Self.
Building upon the success of the last four Ladies Night Out events, the Breast Health Awareness Committee is already making plans for October 2017.
