Lillian was the only child born to Tony Tanko and Frances Bozich in Hibbing, Minn. She attended the historic Altaville School and Bret Harte High School. She married the love of her life, Raymond Callahan, on July 31, 1948, in the original St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Angels Camp. She worked for the Altaville Market, Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and Horst’s Furniture Store. Her life was dedicated to her family, travel with her husband and friends, and her father’s well drilling business Tanko Well Drilling.

More often than not, she was found with rollers in her hair, a Fudgsicle in hand, watching “The Price is Right” or “Wheel of Fortune.” She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Raymond. And is survived by daughter Jennifer Eltringham (David); son Martin Callahan (Rosalee); grandchildren Aimee (Drew) McDonald, Jeffrey (Kerry) Eltringham, Ryan (Kellie) Callahan, Rosalee Callahan (Thomas Hayes), Selena and Leah; and great-grandchildren Hailey, Courtney, Norah, Kasey, Bailey, Paige and Evan.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calaveras County Friends of the Fair or Hospice of Amador and Calaveras.
