Man Arrested After Attempted Murder In Mountain Ranch

Mountain Ranch, CA…On 11/04/16 at about 0835hrs, The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 18000 block of Jesus Maria Road in Mountain Ranch for a report of a shooting incident that stemmed from a dispute between an adult male and a female adult victim.

It was alleged that during the dispute the suspect discharged a handgun into a vehicle that was occupied by the victim and a second female occupant. The vehicle sustained damage from the discharged firearm. The suspect then allegedly confronted and took items from inside the vehicle that belonged to the two women. The suspect was identified as 64 year old Jim Clancy of Mountain Ranch. The victims were not injured. Jim Clancy was subsequently arrested and booked into CCSO jail for Robbery and Attempted Murder charges; Bail $2,200,000. The case is still active and under investigation.
