San Andreas, CA…NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING LEAD AGENCY: Calaveras County Building Department, 891 Mountain Ranch Rd., San Andreas, CA 95249

ADOPT AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CALAVERAS COUNTY CODE, CHAPTER 15.04 “UNIFORM CODES”. TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE THE 2016 CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE, TITLE 24 OF THE CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS AND TO ESTABLISH A FEE FOR SUBSEQUENT APPROVED EXTENSIONS OF PERMITS: The County proposes to amend Title 15, specially Chapter 15.04, “Uniform Codes”, to adopt the 2016 edition of the California Building Code; with minor administrative amendments to address permit expiration, existing permit fees, plan review fees, and work commending. The purpose of the Ordinance is to provide minimum requirements and standards for the protection of the public safety, health, property and welfare of the residents of the County.

Copies of the California Building Code and applicable secondary codes being considered for adoption are on file with the clerk of the County Board of Supervisors, and are open to public inspection. The data required by Government Code §66016 et seq. is available for review at the County Building Department located at 891 Mtn. Ranch Road, San Andreas, California.

The proposed amendments to Title 15 are exempt from CEQA Section 15061 (b)(3). The activity is covered by the general rule that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. Where it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment, the activity is not subject to CEQA.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on November 22, 2016, or as soon thereafter as can be heard, to consider the above referenced ordinance. The public hearing will be held in the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Chambers, Government Center, 891 Mtn. Ranch Road, San Andreas, California.
