Sonora, CA…On 10-November 2016, three subjects were arrested on several charges relating to the passing of counterfeit bills, drug possession, defrauding an innkeeper, and conspiracy. At approximately 9:26 pm, the Sonora Police Department responded to a report of suspicious persons attempting to pass a counterfeit one-hundred dollar at Applebee’s restaurant.
Upon the officer’s arrival to the area, she was flagged down by an employee who pointed out an associated vehicle, which was attempting to leave the area. The officer caught up to the 2015 silver Doge Journey and conducted a traffic stop near Big 5 Sporting Goods. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 34 year old Tamika Hicks of Stockton. Hicks was determined to be driving the vehicle while unlicensed. The other occupants of the vehicle were identified as 37 year old Tyronza Gresham of Stockton, 34 year old Marlon Robinson of Stockton, and 37 year old Andrew Tolley of Stockton.
Tolley was positively identified as the subject who attempted to pass the counterfeit one-hundred dollar bill at Applebee’s and was taken into custody. Robinson and Gresham were determined to have out of county warrants for their arrest and were also taken into custody. A search of the vehicle and occupants produced an additional 15 counterfeit bills in various denominations, pepper spray, as well as over a half of a gram of Heroin and just under 3 grams of Methamphetamine. Additionally, the officer located a meth pipe and hypodermic needles in the vehicle.
Robinson had provided a false name to officers after detention and was determined to be on probation out of San Joaquin for that same offense. After his arrest, Robinson also attempted to bring narcotics into the jail which he had concealed on his person. Based on the details of the investigation, it was determined that Gresham, Robinson, and Tolley were working in concert to commit crimes associated with the counterfeit bills.
Andrew Tolley was booked for passing a counterfeit bill, defrauding an innkeeper, conspiracy to commit a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail is set at $10,000. Tyronza Gresham was booked for possession of counterfeit bills, conspiracy to commit a felony, attempting to destroy evidence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and being a felon in possession of pepper spray, along with her outstanding arrest warrant. Her bail is set at $10,000. Marlon Robinson was booked for possession of counterfeit bills, conspiracy to commit a felony, transporting a controlled substance into a jail facility, false personation of another, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, along with his outstanding arrest warrant. His bail is set at $25,000. Tamika Hicks, the driver of the vehicle, was released on a misdemeanor citation for driving while unlicensed.
