Angels Camp, CA…On Friday, 11-18-16, at approximately 10:30 AM, officers from the Angels Camp Police Department served a search warrant in the 600 block of Stanislaus Avenue. This search warrant is part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, related to the sales and transportation of drugs and narcotics, including marijuana, methamphetamine and cocaine.
Prior to service of the search warrant, officers were made aware of a parasitic infestation at the residence, and precautionary measures were taken to avoid contamination of staff. These measures included the donning of protective suits, gloves, boots, and eye and respiratory protection.
Additionally, due to the fact that the residence is in close proximity to Mark Twain Elementary School, police department staff coordinated with school staff to arrange for a temporary precautionary lockdown of the campus while the search warrant was served. Once the residence was secured, school staff were notified and the lockdown was lifted. The lockdown lasted approximately thirty minutes.
Evidence related to the investigation was recovered and is being processed. Due to the nature of the investigation, no additional details can be released at this time.
