Rounding out the event from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, enjoy an opening reception at Petroglyphe Gallery for artist Doug Lawler’s “The Island of Za, Chapter One”.

Take someone’s hand and follow the enchanting adventures that artist Doug Lawler has imagined, of a girl and a dog that continually loses friends, in a place with magic in the air, on a mythical island. In your own fantasy world you can experience supernatural powers, mysterious things and perhaps a “second coming” as explained by the artist.

Viewers will be taken away into their own realm in a fable without words by the artist who encourages this journey through fine art drypoint etchings. This exhibition will be a preview of “The Island of Za, Chapter One”, consisting of 35 images. The etchings are limited editions of 75 numbered prints. Expect the book to be published in late summer of 2017. The complete story will be told in soft Sepia images with one color foldout in each chapter. Limited edition drypoint etching prints will be available at Petroglyphe Gallery.

As part of the reception, join in a celebration of the season at Petroglyphe Gallery with Doug Lawler and other gallery artists. Sample Metzger Family Wines & light appetizers while enjoying live music with guitarist Herb Boxhorn. Find those unique & special gifts from the gallery’s newest “shop”, Copper & Willow – Inspired Gifts.
