Angels Camp, CA…The most beautiful and anticipated dance in The Nutcracker is the Grand Pas de Deux, featuring the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier in Act ll. This year’s Nutcracker, preformed by Studio 4 Dance Theater, will feature three Pas de Deux, or partner dances. “The audience should be looking for the return of the Snow Queen and King dancing a stunning Pas de Deux, featuring Molly Johnson and Damian Homer-Goltz; a beautiful Arabian Pas de Deux danced by Leah Cottrell and Damian Homer-Goltz; and of course the Grand Pas de Deux, which is breathtaking this year, with Ethan Moes returning as the Cavalier and Brianna Gilbert, her last role with Studio 4 Dance Theater, as the Sugar Plum Fairy,” said Tammie Lee, artistic director.
Each year Tammie Lee creates a new and stunning version of The Nutcracker. This year’s will be presented December 15-17, 2016 at the Bret Harte Theater in Angels Camp. “There are so many things that I’m excited about–the new costumes, new character additions, and some spectacular lifts,” said Tammie, when asked about this year’s performance.
This year marks the eighth production of Studio 4 Dance Theater’s The Nutcracker. It has become a local holiday favorite as the dancers dazzle sold out audiences.
