Copperopolis, CA…Happy New Year! The Mother Lode Jewish Community will be starting of 2017 with a “Havdalah and Movie Night” on Saturday evening, January 14th at 5:30 pm at a member’s home in Copperopolis. This will be a potluck gathering that gives those participating an opportunity to think about Jewish life and connect with others in the mother lode. Summer Greenwald-Gonella, the daughter of Rabbi Andra Greenwald and a fifth year Cantorial student at the Jewish Theological Seminary in NYC will be conducting the service. Following the service and potluck dinner, we will enjoy a showing of The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob, a wild French-Italian comedy made in 1973 described as “one of the funniest, bust-a-gut laughing, most hysterical films ever made”!
Nonmembers are welcome to participate. For more information about the MLJC or our future events, go to www.motherlodejewishcommunity.org or contact the MLJC at 209-533-1650. Directions will be sent to you as confirmation.
The MLJC’s mission is to provide opportunities and events that nurture a vibrant and enduring Jewish identity, culture and community in the Mother Lode, drawing members from Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne and Mariposa Counties. New members are always welcome. The activity calendar includes monthly gatherings, primarily in the Copperopolis/Murphys and Jamestown/Sonora areas. A full list of upcoming events can be found on the events page of the MLJC website.
