The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office had issued a warrant for 32 year old Sonora resident John Paul Schowachert, for his involvement in the stabbing that occurred in Twain Harte on August 30th.

Tuesday August 30th, just before 7 PM, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the 28000 block of Italian Bar Road in Twain Harte reporting a neighbor had been stabbed.
Deputies responded along with ambulance and fire personnel and met the 46 year old victim, Shane Mackie, in a vehicle near the intersection of South Fork Rd. and Italian bar Rd. He was stabbed several times in the chest and abdomen.

Mackie was transported by ambulance to the landing zone near the Outpost in Soulsbyville and taken to a central valley area hospital by helicopter. He is currently in stable condition. The victim seemed to be specially targeted and not a random attack.
