Major Injuries To Wallace Woman In Hwy 12 Collision

Valley Springs, CA…An 18 year old Wallace woman was driving her Honda westbound on SR-12, approaching Southworth Rd. at an unknown speed. A Sacramento woman was driving Vehicle her Mercedes westbound on SR-12, approaching Southworth Rd. directly ahead of the Honda, and was slowing due to stopped traffic ahead. A Valley Springs man was driving Vehicle his Chevrolet eastbound on SR-12, approaching Southworth Rd, at approximately 55 MPH. The Wallace woman failed to stop her Honda in time and the front of it collided with the rear of Mercedes. The force of the impact caused the Honda to spin out of control and into the eastbound traffic lane directly into the path of the Chevrolet.

As a result, the front of the Chevy collided with the left side of the Honda. The Wallace woman was transported to Modesto – Memorial and treated for major injuries. The Valley Springs man was transported to Mark Twain Medical and treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in this collision. SR-12 at this location was dosed for approximately one hour and the collision is still under investigation.
