Cause Of Curtis Creek Elementary School Fire Released

San Andreas, CA…On Thursday, January 26th at 4:49 a.m. firefighters from Tuolumne County Fire, Rancheria Fire, Twain Harte Fire, the City of Sonora Fire, and CAL FIRE were dispatched to Curtis Creek Elementary School, 18755 Standard Road, Sonora. Upon arrival crews found one classroom fully involved.

With the fire knocked down, the cause of the fire was determined to be electrical. A total of four classrooms were involved in the incident, one with major damage, another with significant damage, and two others with smoke and water damage.

School officials have cancelled classes for the remainder of this week.
