Full Highway Closure On SR 26 From Paloma Road To Campo Seco Turnpike

Calaveras County, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has closed eastbound and westbound State Route 26 from Paloma Road near Paloma to Campo Seco Turnpike, west of Mokelumne Hill, for road repairs.

The full highway closure will continue as repairs are being made and is now estimated to remain in place until Friday, February 3, 2017. Inclement weather and cold temperatures are contributing factors in completing this work.

Detours are in place and motorists should expect 20 minute delays. Alternate routes are recommended. Detour information is as follows;

-For eastbound travel – traffic is directed to SR-12 toward San Andreas to SR-49 north toward Jackson.

-For westbound travel – traffic is directed to SR-49 south to San Andreas to SR-12 west toward Valley Springs.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials and construction related issues.
