It’s Slushie Time In Bear Valley, Snow Returns Before Weekend ~ By Mattly Trent

Bear Valley, CA….Hey Good People! Due to heavy snowfall, rain, wind and High Avalanche Danger, LIFT OPERATIONS WILL BE SUSPENDED today- 2/8/17. Will Update this afternoon. Well…………warm temps are still driving copious amounts of rainfall all over Central and NorCal. We have received almost 4″ of rain in 36hrs and it will continue through today and Thursday. The high for today will come in around 43F and winds out of the South from 13-24mph are expected. Thursday night (late looks like a return of cooler temps and snow should start to fall again by Friday morning or so. With the amount of rain saturation in the snow pack bonding has been the huge culprit here or lack there of. Think of the slushy drink at the Fair and add 2 cups of water to it and that’s what we have out on the ski hill, simply put I know but that’s what is driving our decision to remain closed for another day. We will update everyone later this afternoon as we assess what we will do for Thursday Feb 9 2017. “Bear” with us and when we reopen, come on up and experience our local “Pure Mtn Fun” ethos and stay tuned……….
