Hey Good People!! Snow Returns Soon & Lifts Suspended Feb 9th!! ~Bear Valley Update By Mattly Trent

Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! Due to heavy snowfall, rain, wind and High Avalanche Danger, LIFT OPERATIONS WILL BE SUSPENDED today- 2/9/17. Will Update this afternoon. Another day of rain is upon us and well……..is what it is! The projected high today is to be around 45F with a South wind from 31-50mph. Up to 1″ of rain is expected today and more tonight before some cooling brings snow back into the mix. A possible 2-4″ tonight of new snow and 3-5″ of snow during the day Friday. It’s all about timing right now and when the moisture arrives as to when snowfall will start. With the amount of rain saturation in the snow pack bonding has been the huge culprit here or lack there of. Think of the slushy drink at the Fair and add 2 cups of water to it and that’s what we have out on the ski hill, simply put I know but that’s what is driving our decision to remain closed for another day. We will update everyone later this afternoon as we assess what we will do for Friday Feb 10 2017. “Bear” with us and when we reopen, come on up and experience our local “Pure Mtn Fun” ethos and stay tuned……….
