Sonora, CA…Every year, hundreds of Tuolumne and Amador County families are eligible for free income tax assistance. Please call for eligibility and to schedule an appointment.

In partnership with the IRS, ATCAA’s Tax Program offers free tax preparation for qualified recipients between January and April in Amador and Tuolumne Counties through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Each year, there are many households who are not required to file a return but may benefit greatly from filing. There are many tax credits available such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child and Dependent Care Credit, Education Tax Deduction, and many more which can contribute to a resident receiving a tax refund.

Tuolumne County Sonora Service Center was honored to receive the 2015 VITA Site of the Year for Northern California and Northern Nevada award from the IRS for quality in program delivery of our VITA program. ATCAA operates a VITA site in Amador County and a second site in Tuolumne County.
