Forest Service Seeks Public Comment On State OHV Grant Applications

Sonora, CA…The Stanislaus National Forest announced a public comment period beginning March 7 on preliminary 2018 (G16) off-highway vehicle grant applications. Public comments may be submitted until April 3, 2017.

Forest recreation specialists have completed two draft grant applications proposing two off-highway vehicle projects for consideration by the California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division. The proposals were prepared under revised OHVMR program regulations that were approved in January 2016.

The proposed projects include Forest-wide operation and maintenance of OHV trails and facilities, as well as Forest-wide law enforcement patrols and visitor education. The OHVMV Division grants are an integral part of the ongoing success of the Forest’s OHV program.

The public comment period for grant applications begins March 7, 2017. The public is invited to review and comment on the preliminary application packages. The Stanislaus National Forest grant applications may be found at www.CA.gov’s on-line grant application website at http://olga.ohv.parks.ca.gov/egrams_ohmvr/user/home.aspx. Follow instructions on the website to locate the Stanislaus grant applications and instructions on how to provide comments. Stanislaus National Forest will receive copies of comments about their applications by the OHVMV Division.
