San Andreas, CA…Mark Twain Medical Center has opened a new Specialty Care Center in San Andreas. Dr. Andrew McCoy is now seeing patients there full-time.
“Dr. McCoy is an asset to our Specialty Care Center,” commented Bob Diehl, CEO MTMC adding “For the past three years as a General Surgeon he has been providing surgical care along with our team at MTMC in Calaveras County. We are elated that he has most recently been able to increase his availability to further enhance the needs of the community.”
Dr. Andrew McCoy earned his medical degree from University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, ND. Dr. McCoy completed his Internship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN; followed by General Surgery residency at University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Grand Forks, ND. He obtained his Fellowship in an advanced GI and Laparoscopic Fellowship Program at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. He is board certified.
“Having lived most of my life in rural communities, my family and I truly enjoy living in Calaveras County,” remarked Dr. McCoy. “I have been preparing my entire career to take care of my patients, and focus on their needs and outcomes. I feel very privileged to be a part of the team at MTMC, providing first class care, close to home and loved ones.”
“We are in the process of enhancing our existing Surgical Services,” stated Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lonnie Smith. “We have begun recruiting new surgeons to meet the growing needs of the community. Dr. McCoy will continue to provide insight and leadership along with other members of the Medical Staff to bring top quality care to our patients at MTMC.”
