Murphys, CA…The 21st Annual Renner Winery Bonfire in the Vineyard is our best event. This year, it will happen on Saturday, April 29th starting at 6:00 pm. We will have a great dinner, music and dancing to the great local band, Jill & The Giants. This promises to be a wonderful experience enjoying the beautiful vineyard in the height of spring! Nestled in a valley in the beautiful Sierra Foothills near Murphys, California, Doctor Ian Renner found paradise. With rolling hills surrounded by Lake New Melones, this valley reminded him of New Zealand and so, he named it “Canterbury.”

With its warm long days and cool nights the magnificent landscape provided the perfect place to create the world class wines Ian dreamed of making. We welcome you to Canterbury!

In 1995, Doctor Renner decided to finally plant the vineyard of his dreams, planting his first eight acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Situated on a peninsula overlooking New Melones Reservoir, the land was blessed with cool afternoon breezes coming off the water, and he felt the microclimate here would lend itself to producing world-class grapes and wines. Today his dream is realized with the first release of Estate-Grown wines and Olive Oil.

The combination of top quality grapes, a wonderful macroclimate and schist soil, and a passion and talent from all involved, Renner Wines is producing top class wines that rank with the finest the region has to offer. Our Tasting Room is located in the heart of downtown Murphys, directly across from the Murphys Hotel, the address is 448 Main Street. We are very excited to be able to present our wines to our friends and visitors in our Tasting Room seven days a week.

Our vineyards are just 7 miles away, in Vallecito where we grow our grapes, host events, give private tours and now have a Vineyard Cottage available for weekend rentals.
