Bret Harte Members Awarded Highest FFA Honor

Stockton, CA…On Tuesday March 21, 2017 fourteen Bret Harte FFA members were awarded the golden charm of the California State FFA Degree in a ceremony at Atherton Auditorium located on the campus of Delta College. The state FFA degree is the highest degree that is bestowed upon an FFA member in California.

Represented by a golden FFA emblem charm, it is worn on the official FFA jacket. Not all FFA members receive their State FFA degree, in fact only about five percent of the Bret Harte FFA chapter members do. In order to earn this degree members must have completed 500 hours & earned $1000 in their Supervised Agricultural Experience Project and must have completed two years of instruction in an agriculture class. Additional requirements include twenty five hours of community service, five above the chapter level activities, and two high school activities. FFA members have to submit their record books for verification and complete an application in order to apply for this degree. Recipients include: Gaby Barboza, Emily Bolton, Mason Davis, Rebecca Elliot, Azlynn Gates, Ashlynn Maddeaux, Nicholas Ratkovich, Kenzie Segale, Kylie Smithers, Josh Soria, Clayton Stearns, Sydnie Torres, Alyssa Walker and Haylee Willis. Congratulations for your last three to four years of hard work, sweat and determination to earn this honor.
