With a six-decade career and 200 plus albums, this iconic Texan is the creative genius behind the historic recordings of Crazy, Red Headed Stranger, and Stardust. Willie Nelson has earned every conceivable award as a musician and amassed reputable credentials as an author, actor, and activist. He continues to thrive as a relevant and progressive musical and cultural force.
In recent years, he has delivered more than 10 new album releases, released a Top 10 New York Times’ bestsellers book, again headlined Farm Aid, an event he co-founded in 1985, received his 5th degree black belt in Gong Kwon Yu Sul, headlined the last three years of the on-going Luck Reunion food and music festival at his ranch in Luck, TX during SXSW, announced the launch of his cannabis company Willie’s Reserve, and graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
In 2015, Nelson added “It’s A Long Story: My Life,” the unvarnished and complete story of Willie, hit bookshelves and landed him on the New York Times’ bestsellers list; and a new studio album with Merle Haggard titled Django And Jimmie, which debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Country album chart and #7 on Billboard‘s Top 200 album chart.
In November 2015, the Library of Congress honored him with their Gershwin Prize for Popular Song for his contributions to popular music. He is the first country artist to receive the distinguished award. And 2016 began with the release of Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin, a collection of 11 newly recorded Gershwin classics. The album debuted at #1 on both the Top Current Jazz chart and the Top Traditional Jazz chart, as well as earned him a Grammy Award for the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
In September, came For the Good Times: A Tribute to Ray Price, an album of newly recorded interpretations of 12 Ray Price songs. While a month later, Nelson released Pretty Paper, his new novel inspired his classic holiday song of the same title about a legless man who sold wrapping paper in front of a Ft. Worth, TX department store. In April 2017, Nelson releases God’s Problem Child, his latest studio album with 13 new songs. Nelson continues to record more new songs for upcoming projects as well as touring throughout North America year long.
Texas-native and Grammy winning singer-songwriter, Kacey Musgraves grew up in Golden, TX – a tiny town east of Dallas – -and the sweet potato Capital of Texas
She started performing in Texas at the age of eight singing Western Swing at local Opry houses; wrote her first song, “Notice Me,” when she was nine; first learned to play the Mandolin and then guitar at the age of 12.
In 2008 Kacey moved to Nashville where one of her first jobs in town was dressing up as different characters and performing for little kid’s birthday parties.
Shortly after, she signed her first major label deal with Universal Music Group.
Kacey made her major-label debut with Mercury Records Nashville for Same Trailer Different Park in 2013 and Pageant Material in 2015; both albums co-produced by Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Luke Laird, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart and were met with massive critical acclaim and recognition. Same Trailer Different Park has earned her two Grammy awards for Best Country Song (“Merry Go ‘Round”) as well as Best Country Album. She has also taken home awards for New Artist of the Year at the 2013 CMA Awards, ACM Award for Album of the Year (Same Trailer Different Park), and the 2014 CMA
Award for Song of the Year for “Follow Your Arrow” – a song considered “controversial” for the country music format but expanded far beyond it..
This past December Kacey also released her first holiday album, A Very Kacey Christmas, Featuring Leon Bridges, Willie Nelson & The Quebe Sisters. The album included four
originals co-written by Musgraves in addition to her take on eight holiday favorites. Following the album release she launched her very first sold-out national Christmas tour, A Very Kacey Christmas.
Kacey’s headlining tours have sold out venues all over the world, including the famed Royal Albert Hall in London. Last year she was also honored with the CMA International Artist Achievement Award. (The award recognizes outstanding achievement by a US based artist who contributes to the awareness and development of Country Music outside the United Stages.)
Currently Kacey spends most of her time in Nashville writing and learning how to ride as she recently achieved a life-long dream of owning her first horse.
