Angels Camp, CA…The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee was this past weekend, from 05/18 through 05/21/17. Five (5) arrests for driving under the influence were made during this time period; one (1) on 05/19, four (4) on 05/20, and one (1) on 05/21. The DUI arrest on 05/19 occurred as a result of solo vehicle accident that occurred on Gardner Lane south of Dogtown Road. Last year (2016) during the same four-day fair time period, only one (1) DUI arrest was made.

Due to budgetary constraints the Angels Camp Police Department had fewer officers working the fair weekend this year. Only one additional officer was staffed for patrol this year, on Friday and Saturday from 6 PM to 2 AM.

As we approach the busy summer travel and vacation season the Angels Camp Police Department would like to remind the motoring public to designate a sober driver.
