State Route 108 Guardrail Work Continues From SR-49 to Old Wards Ferry Ward

Tuolumne County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound State Route 108 (SR-108) from SR-49 to Old Wards Ferry Ward for guardrail work. (Due to Memorial Day holiday weekend, there is no scheduled construction Sunday, May 28, and Monday, May 29, 2017.)

Crews will be working Tuesday, May 30, 2017, through Friday, June 2, 2017, from 9:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
This is part of the $1 million SR-49/SR-108 guardrail and road improvement project, which began in March and is scheduled to finish in June. It is upgrading guardrail on a five-mile stretch of SR-49 from Hardvard Mine Road to Columbia Way and an 11-mile stretch of SR-108 from the SR-108/SR-49 junction to Heliport Road. This project is also widening the SR-108/South Washington Street intersection, so it conforms with the Surface Transportation Assistance Act.

Motorists should expect 10 minute delays.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials and construction related issues.
