Sonora, CA…You are invited to attend the Elder Empowerment Conference scheduled for Wednesday, June 14th from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at The Hotel & Conference Center at Black Oak Casino Resort. This information filled free event will feature Dr. Patrick Arbore, founder and director of the Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention and Grief Related Services, a program of the Institute on Aging and Wilson Wewa, prominent member, spiritual leader, and oral historian of the Northern Paiute Tribe of Oregon and member of the Confederated Tribe of the Warm Springs Reservation. Well versed in elder empowerment, both speakers will offer a wealth of information to those in attendance!
Afternoon topics, facilitated by local experts, will include Internet Scams and Financial Safety; Medication Safety and Wellness; and a special presentation by Lt. Jarrod Pippin from the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department.
The conference will include booths with local agency information, a continental breakfast, and lunch. Tuolumne County Behavioral Health will provide continuing education units.
Doors will open at 8:00 am for check-in and the Conference will begin at 9:00 with guest speakers and informative presentations.
