Arnold, CA…We are excited to announce “Mornings With The One Percent™” a new, live, three hour, news & entertainment program will premier on July 3rd. It will run for three hours weekday mornings. The premise for the name is this: As many of you may know the USDA rated all the counties in the US on a livability scale on climate, natural amenities, etc. Calaveras came in as the 14th best county in the whole nation to live and all of our local counties Tuolumne, Amador & Alpine all rank high enough to easily fall into the top one percent of the over 3,000 counties in the US. So even when bad things happen here (which they do) at the end of the day we have a lot to be thankful for as we live in some of the greatest areas literally on the planet. We may not all be a Buffett, Gates or a Bezos but we are part of the one percent because we call this area home.
We think looking at the world through the lens of our small communities has value. Some of us are left wing, some of us are right wing and some of us would rather just eat wings. But underneath it all our communities are still small enough that we know our neighbors and community members personally. We still like and are even good friends with those who may “gasp” vote differently on some issues than we do.
We know who is trying to help our communities move forward economically and those with whom on the surface we should agree with but are really just mucking things up. In essence in small communities it takes all of us to keep them rolling along.
Our “angle” if we have one will be looking at our communities and the world through the lens of our little one percent slice of America.
Each half hour block will be different but with enough summary that if you catch any ½ hour segment you should get enough local and national news to get you through the day and be quip ready at the water cooler or grocery line.
Some of you may remember that last year we did a weekly show called “This Week With The One Percent” It did well with some weeks having over 30,000 views but ended up not working from a production perspective because it got in the way of our actual job of providing news.
This long format approach will hopefully meld the two. We can have our video and promotional bits mixed in while we keep up with the latest traffic, fire, government news and more. When breaking news happens our live show will follow along as we get the details.
So we hope you tune in on your computer, tablet, ios or android device and spend some time with us as even when tragedies, and bad things happen here we are still lucky to be part of the one percent.
