This Year’s Big Band Street Dance! VIP table seating and Dance Contest

Columbia, CA…Friends of Columbia State Historic Park will celebrate Columbia’s 72nd year as a California State Park by hosting the 22th annual Big Band Street Dance event on Main Street in Columbia on July 22, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Admission is free and 1940’s and 1950’s costumes are encouraged. At 11:00am, take a free tour of town with park aide who will focus on life in Columbia during the 1940’s. Throughout the day photo displays will liven the streets and museum depicting various buildings during that time period.


   
A 1940’s DJ will open the evening festivities with music from 6:00-7:30 pm. Rod Harris & the Kicks and the Columbia College Big Band will perform music from the ‘40’s, ‘50’s and ‘60’s beginning at 7:30 pm. Prizes will be awarded for best dancers and best 40’s costumes. Columbia’s restaurants will be open and serving food and spirits, and popcorn and soda and water will be available all evening for purchase.

We will have VIP Table Seating again this year. Enjoy the festivities from your private table. $15 per person or $50 per table. VIP tables include a complimentary bottle of champagne. Reservations can made at (209) 588-8411.

Although admission is free, donations to Friends of Columbia to support educational and historical programs are greatly appreciated. Invite your friends and family to this fabulous evening of nostalgia and fun. Bring lawn chairs and your dancing shoes to fully enjoy this classic event!
