Sacramento, CA…The Red Cross shelter at Groveland Community Hall is now closed. Evacuees who stayed at the Groveland facility have been relocated to the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. New evacuees in the area are encouraged to go to the fairgrounds for assistance. The American Red Cross is operating the following shelter locations for residents impacted by the Detwiler Fire:

Mountain Christian Center, 40299 Highway 49, Oakhurst, CA 93644
Cesar Chavez Junior High, 161 S. Plainsburg Road, Planada, CA 95365
Mother Lode Fairgrounds, 220 Southgate Drive, Sonora, CA 95370
Volunteers are on hand at each location to provide lodging, meals, health services and comfort for affected residents. Veterinary services are available for animals as well.
