Murphys, CA…Plan B, featuring Keno Rojas on guitar, Vince Rojas on bass, and Jim Bailey on drums, will provide the music when the Murphys Community Club’s First Friday of the Month event is presented August 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the tree shaded Murphys Community Park. The band is a local group that tailors its music to fit the audience, with an emphasis on rock hits from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.

From June to September, the First Friday in the Park series features a performance by a popular musical group playing in the iconic gazebo starting at 5:30 p.m. From 4 p.m., tickets for a special dinner will be available for purchase at $10 per person and an excellent local wine will be on sale along with other beverages. This month, Sierra Hills Market/Lila & Sage will be offering a choice of grilled flat iron steak or grilled chicken, accompanied by pasta salad, couscous salad, garlic bread, watermelon, and a cookie.

Friends and neighbors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a small town America happening. There is no admission charge and ample free parking is available nearby. Donations to help maintain the park are always gratefully received.

The Murphys Community Club is celebrating its 69th year of providing services and programs for the greater Murphys area. Its prime responsibility is the management and maintenance of the beautiful Murphys Community Park.

This is the eleventh year the club has presented First Fridays in the Park. These summertime events continue to grow in popularity and have fast become a Mother Lode tradition.
