Mokelumne Hill, CA…Arthur John Novotny, cherished Dad, Grandpa, Friend, passed away on August 12, 2017, at the age of 85. He was a longtime resident of Mokelumne Hill. Art was born in Stockton, CA to Eleanor and John Novotny. He attended elementary school in White Pines and graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1950. Art worked as an Accountant/Controller in both Calaveras and Amador Counties.

After retiring, Art took up his lifetime passion of antiquing; he never passed up a good estate or garage sale. Art enjoyed spending time out on his deck talking with friends and family while puffing on his pipe.

Art will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Jennifer Novotny of Sacramento, CA, daughter, Janeen Butterfield (Brian) of Vancouver, WA, two grandsons, Jack and Luke Butterfield, sister, Margie Palermo (Al) of Stockton, CA, nieces and nephews, many close friends and his devoted cat Dexter.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at the Buena Vista Cemetery, Murphys.
