Construction Snarling Traffic South of Angels Camp & Parrotts Ferry May Be Best Route!

Angels Camp, CA…(Editor’s Note: We just heard from a viewer that this stretch of construction is causing up to 45 minute delays if you happen to mistime heading through this area. So is you have an appointment or time sensitive trip you need to make to or from Sonora Parrotts Ferry may be your best alternative. Or Red Hill Road if you don’t mind a bit of gravel.) The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on northbound and southbound State Route 49 from Angels Creek to the Calaveras/Tuolumne county line. Work will begin Monday, August 14, 2017, through Friday, August 18, 2017, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Motorists should expect 10 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

The work at this location is part of a project that will repave over 21 combined miles of highway on SR-4 and SR-49 in Calaveras County. This $3.6 million project has been awarded to George Reed, Inc. and is scheduled to be completed in October 2017.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
