Paving & Shoulder Work on Hwy 4 in Murphys & Angels Camp Areas

CALAVERAS COUNTY — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various road construction work on State Route 4 (SR-4) from SR-49, in Angels Camp, to Apple Blossom Drive in Murphys. Work will occur as follows: One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-4 from SR-49 to Davis Ranch Road beginning Sunday, August 20, 2017, through Friday, August 25, 2017, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. for paving work. Shoulder closures on eastbound and westbound SR-4 from Pennsylvania Gulch Road to Dam Road beginning Monday, August 21, 2017, through Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 7:00 a.m until 5:00 a.m. for curb, gutter and sidewalk work.
Motorists should expect 10 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

The work at this location is part of a project that will repave over 21 combined miles of highway on SR-4 and SR-49 in Calaveras County. This $3.6 million project has been awarded to George Reed, Inc. and is scheduled to be completed in October 2017.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
