Vienna Claudette Green Passed Away at 76

Valley Springs, CA…We, the sons and daughters of Vienna Claudette Green, with heavy hearts announce the passing of our beloved mother. Mom passed peacefully in her home near Valley Springs on August 23, 2017. She was 76 years old. Our mother, Vienna, is predeceased by her mother, Gertrude Tetrault Gouger, her father, Joseph Gouger, and her husband, Bill Green (but we just called him Dad).

Our mom is lovingly remembered by her sister Andree (Jeff) Mathews, and brother Norman Gouger; we, her 7 children, Duke, John (Monica), Annette (Robert) Pachinger, Max, Jason (April), Kathryn (Shawn) Linzey, and Monique (Greg) MacCarthy; her 12 grandchildren Mitchell Green (Carina), Capri, Kyle, and Conner Green, Vernon, and Laure Roessler, Danielle, Joseph, Russell, and Sebastian Pachinger, Daniel, and Tanner Green, as well as by her two great grandchildren,
nieces, and nephews.

Mom was born in MontrealFarnham, Quebec, Canada on December 11, 1940, but lived inmoved to Rhode Island at age four the United States from an early
age. Sometime later in her early twenties, Mom met Dad, and they were married on September 15, 1962. As if raising seven children wasn’t
enough, she also helped Dad with his locksmith business during our younger years. Eventually, she hired
on with the State of California in 1977, first for the Franchise Tax Board, later working at the State Lands
Commission, and eventually with Caltrans, from which she retired in 2007.

Mom was a devout Roman Catholic and was active in her local parish (With seven kids, we were the
local parish!), often volunteering to help at various church events and assisting other parishioners.

Of course, on top of all this, she was Mom, and later Grandma, all the time. She could (and did) go from
handling toddlers to teenagers without missing a beat. A hug from Mom fixed everything from bruised
knees to bruised egos. The bar has been set high. Mom will be sorely missed, even as her example
guides our own directions.

A rosary will be held at Saint Andrew’s Catholic Church, 162 Church Hill Rd, San Andreas, CA 95249 on
