Murphys, CA…Founded in 1982 by a host of ambitious local volunteer parents, the Ebbetts Pass Youth Soccer League is once again at a crossroads. While the League’s Bylaws call for up to 13 Board members, the current Board of Directors consists of only six tireless parent volunteers who have been involved with the administration of the League for as many as 10 years. Further, most Directors no longer have children playing in the League but still contribute countless hours in the interest of maintaining this invaluable youth sports program for the Ebbetts Pass community.

At the end of the current playing season (December 2017) ALL of the members of the Board have indicated that they are planning to step down from their positions. With this mass departure, the fate and future of the League now rests in new member families assuming the Board positions listed below or there will be no soccer season next year and potentially for years to come.

If you are a parent with a player in the League who is excited about soccer and committed to playing into their teens and beyond, unless you want to face the prospect of our League folding and driving them to outlying Leagues such as Calaveras, Tuolumne, Modesto, Stockton, etc. you need to ask yourself if this is the time to step up and support EPYSL to maintain this critical community asset and keep local soccer alive !

The outgoing Board members have each indicated they are willing to consult with new Board members to support them during this transitional year. The positions which must be filled by January 2018 include:

President, Registrar, Treasurer, Referee Assignor, Competitive Programs Coordinator, Coaching Coordinator, Uniform Coordinator, Fields Coordinator, Photo Coordinator, Camp Coordinator, and Sponsorship and Fundraising Coordinator.
