Full Highway Closure of Hwy 4 in Alpine County Postponed to September 27

Alpine, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has postponed the planned closure of State Route 4 (SR-4) for pavement repair work. The original date of the closure of eastbound and westbound SR-4 that had been scheduled for Wednesday, September 20, 2017, is now scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2017. The closure will be in effect from closure gate #2 (east of Lake Alpine) to Highland Lake Road beginning at 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

There is no local detour available. Motorists should consider SR-88 and SR-108 as alternate routes and should allow additional travel time to use the alternate route.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
