October 7, 2017 – Calaveras Grape Stomp – Celebrate the beginning of the wine harvest season at the largest and oldest grape stomp competition in California. Now in its 24th year, the annual Calaveras Grape Stomp has grown by participation to include over 120 teams vying to be known as “Champion of the Juice” or winner of the “Best Costume” award. The event also includes the Gold Rush Street Fair which lines Main Street with over 100 outside vendors. Quality arts and crafts, antiques, handcrafted goods, jewelry, clothing, collectibles and food booths offer wares for sale in addition to Murphys’ multitude of one-of-a-kind specialty shops, restaurants and tasting rooms that line Main Street. Attending the 24th Annual Grape Stomp Competition and Gold Rush Street Fair is free to the public. To participate in the stomp, you are required to register in advance. The cost is $70 per team. October 7, 2017 – Live Music at Jazz Cellars – Stop by the Jazz Cellars Tasting Room an check out our award-winning wines. We’re open Noon – 6 pm and look forward to meeting you. Live music (Pirates of the Caribbean…) from 2 pm – 4 pm in our courtyard. The good captain looks somewhat like Ras Beeken Dan, so you can expect some awesome saxophone-infused pirate music. With plenty of outdoor space, you can enjoy beers on tap, local wine, and food, while savoring the energy of the day! Centrally located at 350 Main Street in Downtown Murphys, behind the Hovey Tasting Room, and sharing the best lawn space in town!

October 8, 2017 – Artist Reception at Hovey Winery Tasting Room – Hovey Winery is excited to welcome Susan Ashby to the tasting room for October and November 2017. Join us for a reception on Sunday from 4:30-6pm. Susan is a native Californian and has lived in Valley Springs, CA, since 2005. Susan creates mosaic art, primarily animal faces.
