Negotiations Continue Between CUSD & Teacher’s Union. CUSD Offers 2% Signing Bonus & 3% Salary Increase

San Andreas, CA…As CUSD continues negotiations with the Calaveras Unified Educators Association (CUEA), the district is working to address areas of need without jeopardizing our fiscal ability to provide programs to meet the needs of our students.

To date, our offers have already provided the following:
· Reduced class sizes in grades TK-3 to 24:1
· Increased salaries for all teachers
· Increased hours and days for all Career Technical Education teachers
· Agreed to a district wide safety committee with equal teacher representation

CUSD’s formal offer to CUEA was a 2% one-time payment and a 2% salary increase.
CUSD’s informal offer to CUEA was a 2% one-time payment and a 3% salary increase instead.

CUSD remains open to meet with CUEA to resolve this situation so teachers can get back into their classrooms and we can move forward together to serve our students.
