550 Vehicles Screened At Angels Camp PD / Sonora PD Sobriety Checkpoint

Angels Camp, CA…The Angels Camp Police Department and the Sonora Police Department conducted a joint Sobriety/Driver License checkpoint on Friday, May 22, 2015. The checkpoint was in the 100 block of S. Main Street in the City of Angels Camp, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m..

Five hundred fifty five (555) vehicles were screened during this time, one citation was issued for driving without a license, and one person was cited and released for a warrant. No DUI arrests were made at the checkpoint.

Funding for the sobriety checkpoint is provided through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.

The public is encouraged to call the Angels Camp Police Department at (209) 736-2567, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center at (209) 754-6500, or 911 if they observe impaired drivers on the roadways.
