Murphys, CA…Come join us as businesses and tasting rooms in Murphys celebrate Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead on November 4th, 2017. Up and down Main Street you will find authentic cultural art, food, sugar skulls, face painters, live music and altars dedicated to those who have passed on. We at Newsome Harlow will be displaying an alter dedicated to the Donner Party. Not only because it is the name of one of our Single Vineyard Zinfandels, but because there is a historical link between our little town of Murphys and the ill-fated group. A decendent of the Donner Party, Virginia Reed, ended up marrying one of Murphys’ founding fathers, John Murphy. A little history lesson for you all…

In remembrance and celebration, we will be featuring our 2015 Donner Party Zinfandel. We will also be offering a limited quantity of Library Donner Party Vintages from 2011- 2014.
