Pioneer, CA…Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, with the assistance of the Amador County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Meadow Drive in Pioneer (Amador County). CCSO Detectives have been conducting follow-up on a robbery that occurred at a marijuana grow site on Skull Flat Road in West Point (Calaveras County) on 10-13-17. As previously reported, during that robbery multiple armed suspects identifying themselves as law enforcement tied up the victims and stole property. The list of stolen items included approximately 500 marijuana plants, a large amount of cash, and a black colored Ford F250. The victim’s truck has since been recovered. Sheriff’s Detectives have been working to identify subjects involved in this robbery and developed probable cause to search the Meadow Drive residence in furtherance of their investigation.
Upon arrival of the Amador County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and CCSO Detectives, a perimeter was created around the residence. It was determined that a subject was barricaded inside. This lead to a day long standoff before the SWAT Team was able to take that subject, identified as 42 year old Jamie Buchanan of Pioneer, into custody. During the execution of the warrant, CCSO Detectives recovered identified stolen property from the West Point robbery. The robbery investigation is ongoing and no further information is available as this is still an active investigation.

Jamie Buchanan was arrested during yesterday’s incident by the Amador County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Amador County Jail with initial charges of 31360(a)PC – violent felon in possession of body armor and 29800(a)(1)PC – felon in possession of a firearm with $135,000 bail. CCSO Detectives will be seeking additional charges through the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office relating to the robbery and possession of stolen property.
