San Andreas, CA…The Calaveras County Arts Council is proud to present a Celebration for Veterans in Calaveras County. Salute to Veterans, Service. Struggle. Strength. Honor. Dignity. Homecoming. Those words mean the world to those who serve our country. On Saturday, November 11, the Calaveras County Arts Council’s will serve respect to those men and women by hosting a gala reception celebrating Veterans Day. To the backdrop of popular Broadway tunes and John Philip Sousa marches, the Arts Council will serve refreshments, remembrances, and a last look at the gallery show Salute: Calaveras County Arts Council honors 100 years of service. There will be door prizes as well.This show, consisting of artwork and memorabilia, charts a fine journey through patriotic iconography and art as well as items used by men and women in the service of the nation.

The current exhibition is part of the ❤Beats for Veterans program to provide free art lessons to Veterans and their families in Calaveras County.

In addition, the Calaveras County Historical Society Museum will be open 10 am -4 pm, for visitors to enjoy their newest display. Saluting our Veterans: Honoring the Men and Women of Calaveras County who Served. With exhibits of locally-loaned war memorabilia spanning over 100 years (including illustrated pages from the World War I journal of Charles Thompson), this exhibit spotlights Calaveras County’s engagement in wider world.
