Groveland, CA…From the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office…A burglar thinks it’s ‘open bar’ at a closed restaurant – it lands him behind bars. Last night just before 11, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Pizza Factory on Hwy 120 in Groveland for a report of a burglary. Turns out the business owner, alerted by an alarm, was remotely watching surveillance video and could see a man inside his restaurant leaning against the cash register. He then called the restaurant and the burglar answered…sounding quite drunk.
When deputies arrived they could see a man in a black hoodie sitting at a booth. He stood up, approached the deputies, and was quickly cuffed.
20-year-old Bradley Trevino of Groveland was very intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol.
K-9 Maverick and Deputy Knapp checked the building and did not locate any other people inside. What they did find was a broken vase and evidence that Trevino had been helping himself to the beer on tap.
He was booked into the jail for burglary and public intoxication with a whopping blood alcohol level of .27.
