Roseville Manufacturer Significantly Reduces Carbon Footprint With New Technology

Roseville, CA…California: Gutterglove announces that its multi-patented technology has resulted in significant reductions of atmosphere released carbon dioxide and solid waste. Their new design in gutter guards eliminated the need for using 4,926 tons of aluminum from 2011 through 2017 which in turn reduced the carbon footprint by 84,344 tons and 11,080 tons of solid waste.

Gutterglove, founded in 1996, manufactures finely woven stainless steel micro-mesh gutter covers that keep leaves, pine needles and roof sand grit out of your gutters. The company leads the industry in state-of-the-art, high performing, top rated gutter guards and has become a success throughout the United States. In the past six years the company has sold over 17 million feet of DIY gutter guards that do not require aluminum supports to hold up the mesh as their competitors are forced to.

This vast amount of Do-It-Yourself gutter guards sold, protected by US Patent 9,021,747, eliminated the need to use nearly 5,000 tons of aluminum. The energy required to have produced this aluminum would have taken a heavy toll on planet earth. It would have been the equivalent to powering 167,984 homes with electricity1; 235,521 cars2 emitting carbon dioxide for one day3; and the generation of 10,706 tons of caustic red muds, rock and scrap waste4.

CEO of Gutterglove, Matt Smith, considers the impact of helping our environment a success story in itself.

“We are very pleased to see how much of an impact our technology is having on reducing the amount of carbon dioxide, simply by diminishing consumption of fossil fuels for energy use in producing aluminum,” states Mr. Smith. “As our company continues to grow exponentially, we’ll be very self-conscious about protecting the environment, and even have that as a condition in the process of new product development.”

Gutterglove forecasts that it will eliminate the need to use 2,500 tons of aluminum in 2018 and will increase by 2,000 tons a year thereafter for the next several years.

One of their other products, Gutterglove Ultra Gutterguard, protected by US Patent 8,479,454, over the past several years has reduced the carbon footprint by 2,890 tons of carbon dioxide and 374 tons of solid waste. The magic of both designs of the gutter guards is the corrugations in the stainless steel mesh. These ridges provide rigidity and strength for supporting itself across the gutter, so little to no aluminum is needed as a support as compared to their first gutter guard invented in 2003 that is protected by US Patent 7,310,912.

Gutterglove gutter guards are sold throughout the US through Costco, Home Depot, Sam’s Club and a host of roofing and gutter supply stores. They also have signed agreements with three other large big box store chains across the country that will launch in the first quarter of 2018.

Other accolades of the company are their recent publications of two new US Patents and also having the only UL Certified gutter guards in North America for rainwater harvesting.
