Oakdale, CA…On January 18, 2018 at approximately 8:30 am, a 20 year old male Turlock resident was driving a 2001 Infinity sedan westbound on State Route 108, west of Kennedy Road, approaching a right bend in the roadway, in heavy fog, at an unknown speed. At this time, 30 year old Patterson resident, Christian Prado, was driving a 2015 Dodge flatbed eastbound on State Route 108, approaching the Infinity. For unknown reasons at this time, the Infinity crossed over the double yellow lines into the eastbound traffic lane, directly into the path of the Dodge. Subsequently, the vehicles collided head-on. The driver of the Infinity was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Prado was transported via ambulance to Oak Valley Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

It has yet to be determined if alcohol and/or drugs contributed to this collision, pending autopsy. This collision is still under investigation.

State Route 108 was closed for approximately 3 hours due to the investigation and scene cleanup. Caltrans diverted traffic through the area onto Orange Blossom Road with minimal delay.
