Valley Springs, CA…Calvin “Cal” Charles Williams. An amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Korean War Veteran and 40 year resident of Valley Springs passed away peacefully at his Valley Springs home on Janurary 20, 2018 after a short battle with cancer with his daughter by his side.
He was born on April 20, 1936 to Earl Francis and Elsie Pearl in Springville, Pa. He had eight siblings. He is survived by his brothers Seldon Williams of Pennsylvania David Williams of Pennsylvania and Donald Williams of Georgia He entered the Army in 1953 and was Honorably discharged in 1955 for which he entered the Air Force in 1956, as an aircraft mechanic, and was Honorably discharged in 1960.
Started a family in 1959 when he married his wife, Vernalee Shaw, with whom he spent the next 50 years upon her untimely death in 2009, and having five children. He is survived by Cynthia Pearl Zink of Rogue River, Oregon, Troy David Williams of Lodi, California, Lori Jean Williams-Nielsen of Valley Springs, California, Pamela Lynn Williams of Stockton, California and Charles Edward Williams of Arnold, California. He had nir e grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He and his family moved to Valley Springs in 1978 and resided there for the next 40 years. He started Cal Williams Construction in the early 1980s as a General Contractor and continued till early 2010 when he retired. Loved and well respected by all those he knew. Always remembered, never forgotten. May he rest in peace.
