Oakdale Woman Arrested on Identity Theft, Grand Theft & More

Sonora, CA…Late Friday night, while patrolling in Jamestown, deputies spotted a 2006 silver Chrysler 300 matching one used in connection with a crime in our county. The driver later identified as 33-year-old Janitta Garcia of Oakdale was seen exiting the vehicle and entering the Chicken Ranch Casino. Deputies recognized Garcia and her vehicle from surveillance footage stemming from several ID thefts that occurred in Sonora, Cold Springs and Oakdale. The credit card used in these thefts was reported stolen in a home burglary that occurred in Strawberry.

Casino security notified the deputies that Garcia had exited the back of the building and was picked up by another vehicle.

Garcia was located a short time later at Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne and was arrested. Garcia was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on charges of conspiracy, burglary, identity theft, and grand theft.
