Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept…”Modesto Police Department called our office early this morning and asked for a Deputy to check for a hit-and-run suspect vehicle at a Columbia Village Drive address. As a Deputy drove north through downtown Sonora, he spotted the black Pontiac SUV driving south with front end damage.

The 28-year-old Sonora woman made several turns through downtown Sonora in an attempt to shake the Deputy. Her plan failed and the Deputy caught up to her at Shepherd and Jackson Street. Modesto PD was contacted and provided with the information they needed to complete their investigation.

Driver, Maurica Walton showed signs of alcohol intoxication and was arrested after a DUI investigation was conducted by a Sonora PD Officer.”
