Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept….Sometimes you get lucky by being in the right place at the right time. One of our Deputies was driving through downtown Sonora Friday evening. He was flagged down by three people who had just witnessed a hit-and-run collision involving a white Ford pickup. The Deputy had the truck in his sights and was able to catch up to it as it turned onto Lyons Street from Shepherd Street. He watched as the truck veered in and out of its lane.

A traffic stop was made on Hillcrest Drive in Sonora. Driver, 67-year-old Mark Patton showed signs of intoxication. The investigation was turned over to Sonora PD and Patton was arrested for DUI.
