Calaveras Arts Council Kicks Off Music in the Parks with Sammy Leverone Band at Copperopolis Town Square

Copperopolis, CA…Please join your neighbors for a free evening of contemporary bluegrass music at Copperopolis Town Square on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The award-winning Sammy Leverone (vocals and guitar) joined forces in 2014 with Scott Leverone (drums), Fred Treece (guitar, dobro, and vocals), Ron Schaner (acoustic guitar), and Tonya Peterson (vocals) to form the Sammy Leverone Band. The Calaveras Arts Council brings you this talented local band as part of its free and family-friendly Music in the Park series. The Sammy Leverone Band will perform its down-home blend of Americana, Blues, and Country tunes from 6:30-8:00 p.m., and folks are encouraged to bring their own low chairs, blankets, and picnic provisions to complete this “hump day” celebration.

Each summer, the non-profit Calaveras Arts Council brings together locals and visitors alike for festive evening gatherings of free live music and do-it-yourself picnicking. While the events are free of charge, optional donations–whether made in advance or “dropped in the bucket” during the event–are always welcome and go a long way towards help the Council continue its mission of supporting musical, visual, and performance arts in Calaveras County–with a focus on local talent. The Arts Council’s Music in the Park series takes place Wednesday evening from June 17 through August 19 in the central gathering places of various small communities within Calaveras County. The complete schedule for the 2015 Music in the Parks (MIP) series can be found on the Calaveras Arts Council’s website www.calaverasarts.org or call 209-754-1774.

So give your friends and family a call and plan your Wednesday evening in the lovely town square. The concert is FREE and has become a great way to visit Copperopolis. It’s well worth the journey.
